Jai Ok Shim has been with KAEC for over thirty years and is the resident expert on all aspects of Korea and the Fulbright Program. She first joined the Fulbright Commission in 1977 as an Administrative and Program Officer after working for nine years with the U.S. Peace Corps. She was appointed to the Commission's Deputy Director position in 1990 and named Executive Director in 2004.

Mrs. Shim holds an BA in English Literature and an MBA from Yonsei University.
